Cropcast Headlines: Midwest Wheat Belt, Plains Wetter In Coming Days

Today’s Cropcast Headlines provide detail for wetter Plains as well as Midwest areas.

-Midwest wheat belt is wetter in eastern areas in the 6-10 day period. Milder temperatures are melting river ice a bit in western areas, but cooler conditions should return later this week. The 6-10 day outlook is wetter in eastern areas. Temperatures are cooler. The 11-15 day outlook is drier in northwestern areas. Temperatures are cooler in southern areas.

-Plains are slightly wetter Tuesday. Snow cover has melted across much of the region, and dryness continues to build across central and southern areas. The 6-10 day outlook is wetter in northwestern areas. Temperatures are cooler. The 11-15 day outlook is slightly wetter in southeastern areas. Temperatures are cooler in southern areas.

-Pacific Northwest wheat belt is wetter today. Additional showers across the region will maintain moisture for white winter wheat. The 6-10 day outlook is cooler in northern areas. The 11-15 day outlook is unchanged.

-Delta is wetter Tuesday. Additional showers Tuesday and Wednesday will maintain moisture which will favor wheat as it breaks dormancy over the next few weeks. The 6-10 day outlook is wetter in central and southern areas. Temperatures are cooler in northern areas. The 11-15 day outlook is drier in southeastern areas. Temperatures are slightly cooler.

-Argentina is wetter in southeastern areas in the 6-10 day period. Additional rains in northwestern areas later this week will maintain some wetness and will also slow corn and soybean drydown. The 6-10 day outlook is wetter in southeastern Buenos Aires.

-Brazil is wetter in northwestern areas in the 6-10 day period. Rains have eased dryness in west central Minas Gerais, but has increased wetness in southern Goias. Rains should increase across Parana, Santa Catarina, and southern Mato Grosso do Sul this week. The 6-10 day outlook is wetter in Mato Grosso.

-No changes for Europe. Wetness continues to ease across France, UK, Italy, and northwestern Spain. Dryness is building further in Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, and northern Romania, but showers should return there next week.

-No changes for FSU. Dryness will build further across Belarus, Ukraine, and southern central Region as precipitation there remains quite limited.

-No changes for China. Showers will maintain abundant moisture in southern Yangtze Valley, but some dryness will continue in west central Yangtze Valley. Also, moisture is declining again in North China Plain.

-No changes for Australia. Limited showers in Queensland and New South Wales will favor sorghum dry-down and early harvesting.

-No changes for South Africa. Rains have eased dryness in northern and eastern areas, but some dryness is building in southwestern areas.
